Medical Blog Idea
If not the whole month, then at least one day is dedicated to something. For example, the third Wednesday of every September is National Backpack Awareness day. I wrote a post about this for Hunt Regional Medical Partners last week.
I keep a calendar of all these days, weeks, and months that are medically related to draw upon for blog post ideas. And I recommend you do the same.
Depending on the type of medical practice you have, there are likely at least a few that will be a good fit.
A good place to find them is on the Proclamations page of whitehouse.gov. A new one comes out just about every week. The one that came out on August 7, 2015, was National Health Center Week (August 9 through August 15, 2015).
Some proclamations are for days, weeks, or months in a given year, but many others are repeated annually. For example, February was established as American Heart Month in 1963 and it still stands.
Many of these annual proclamations are taken up by large organizations, like the American Heart Association, who focus resources on community outreach. This means they have lots of information and free materials you can use.
You don’t just have to rely on Presidential Proclamations, either. Organizations like the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Celiac Support Association also have their own sponsored days dedicated to patient outreach.
Writing about these special observances and linking to free educational materials will benefit your website visitors. You get to do a good deed, and you don’t have to wrack your brain for a blog post idea. Win win.
Here is a list of some upcoming observances:
